UIDAI lets customers of Aadhaar cardsto change their address and without the need of documentation. Aadhaar cardholders are able to modify their address, but only if they did not provide documents proving their identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily suspended a crucial service that allows you to change the address of your Aadhaar card's address without proof of address.

UIDAI allows the users of Aadhaar cards to change their address with no need for any paperwork. Aadhaar card holders can update their address once they accept the authenticity of the address verifier. An address verifier could be a relative, friend, landlord or family member who allows the Aadhaar card user to use their address to prove their identity.

UIDAI is now stopping this facility. UIDAI responds to an Aadhaar Card holder by tweeting that the capability to update address on Aadhaar Card using an Address Validation Form has been halted. UIDAI has requested Aadhaar issuers to remind the Aadhaar Issuers to inform the user that they can update their address using a acceptable PoA document.

Dear Resident Attention: The address Validation Letter service has been taken off until the next notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
